Yesterday they were forwarding errors to the client and I saw something like "You’ve hit your account’s allotted 10 billion tokens per minute limit” (this was for Claude).
My guess is they got a lot more users overnight and haven’t fully renegotiated contracts. This isn’t the kind of problem that’s fully Eng solvable but they’ll probably have improved capacity soon and/or handicap the free version.
