Will sideloaded modded versions of Tiktok still work after the ban?

So as of right now Tiktok is going to be banned in the us around january 19th I think. My question is will the modded version of tiktok I have downloaded on my phone through Esign still work after the ban or am I going to have to get a vpn for that?

Depends if it only will be removed from the store, or if also the video feed will be cut.

In the latter, a VPN will be needed.

It should work the same way as it would if you had a regular version of TikTok from the App Store, which is that it’ll work until the app needs an update and you shouldn’t need a VPN. The only difference with a sideloaded app is that it has an expiration date (7 days for free dev accounts and a year for paid dev accounts or paid certificates) while an App Store-signed app will stay signed forever.

I doubt it but TikTok’s back up app called Lemon8 is in the App Store.

I managed to get the website version to work, I used a vpn to make a gmail in Germany and then make a German TikTok account
