Why does Google give me this page when I try to search something? I’m not using a VPN.
The key words here are “from your computer network”. Depending on the type of your internet connection (e.g. NAT), “your computer network” could consist of hundreds of people who you’ve never known and whose computers may contain viruses or other nasty things. And because one nasty virus, all of you might be seeing this message from Google. A few years ago, I kept getting banned from the Playstation network because “someone on my network” (i.e. someone in my building with 120 flats) did something bad to Sony servers.
I’ve had this, always with incognito either on Safari or Chrome, and more often with a VPN. I think it happens some percentage of the time on all unidentified searches. Probably as a means to fight bots but it’s very irritating.
Suspicious search queries sometimes cause this. i.e. using filters like site: ext: filetype: etc. And no, you don’t need to worry about your security. This is fairly normal. I deal with it every day.
More info: I use the private tab on Safari on my iPhone to visit tabs, usually Twitter and Tumblr. I do not use a VPN and I am, obviously, it a robot. Recently, I have received this page numerous times for mundane searches such as celebrity names and football scores. The page has a reCAPTCHA that routinely does not allow me to use google even when I’ve solved it. It just takes me back to the same page with a new reCAPTCHA.
Why am I receiving this page?
Should I be worried about my iPhone security or my IP address security?
What could I do to make this issue stop happening?
Sounds exactly like something a robot would say.
Please drink a verification can.
I got the same. I was doing a google search on my Pixel using t-mobile data
Your mobile network provider has probably allocated you an IP address that Google has previously had problems with - hence why they are showing you that page.
What will happen is that you’ll get the page from Google a couple of times until they are happy that you aren’t dodgy and then you won’t see it again.
At some point your mobile provider will allocate you a new IP and you might have to go through the same thing again.
I just got this message, and I was on data. All I did was search “food near me” and i get “are you a robot”
That’s happening to me it can happen on Roblox too
Also anything it can ghappen on
Hope you’re not using an idiotPhone
Check your computer time in the bios
That happens to me here in Venezuela when I use CANTV (Venezuelan government internet provider).
I only get this when on my carriers service and I can never use ticketmaster on my phone either. idk if ticketmaster bans all phones or if my carrier is responsible.
There was an article on TorrentFreak over the summer about how Netflix had updated their VPN blocking system and inadvertently ended up blocking a large amount of residential IP addresses belonging to AT&T, Comcast et al.
It’s possible something similar happened to you and Google for whatever reason thinks you may be using a VPN.
It’s also possible that while you may not be doing anything that’s normally trigger a captcha check, someone who had that IP before you might have and the system still has your address flagged. It’ll probably work it’s way out in due time.
Could be that you are searching something odd like Google Dorks or stuff.
Or your IP is generating heavy traffic on google.
Possibly malware on your network?
I also face this issue while I search of a lot…
