I recently installed Virtual Box with Kali Linux inside a win 10 OS. I already had a vpn in my win 10, is it enough if I use that VPN and then use the VM or should I install if again inside the VM?
Thanks for the answers!

As long as you connect the VM via NAT to the host so that it uses it’s network connection it should be enough. If you bridge the NIC it will most likely bypass the VPN so make sure that you are indeed using whatever interface the VPN labels itself as.
If you set the virtual network adapter to bridged it definitely bypasses the VPN, because the VM get’s it’s own IP address from the router and the connection of the host is not used anymore. This is of course only logical. As I already mentioned, the virtual NIC has to be set to NAT or the VPN connection has to be established from within the VM. But there are no really good reasons for setting the NIC to bridged anyway, because you lose the additional security offered by the NAT setting. I have a fairly complicated virtual network (VMware Workstation) with Kali and multiple Windows and Linux and even a pfSense VM, and the only good reason for setting the NIC to bridged is if you want to make a server available to the internet and need port forwarding or if you want to scan your host machine with NMAP, because then Kali and the host have to be on the same subnet. But for such a test you can just switch to bridged, run the test and then revert back to NAT. Another reason not to use a bridged setup is that (theoretically) malware can exploit this, just like “features” like shared folders, bidirectional drag&drop and shared clipboard. No source at hand atm, but I would find one if somebody wants to know more. TL;DR OT…
Well yeah, while I am kind of impressed that you backed up my statement with what basically is a factually correct cool story bro it didn’t really look like OP had the need for, nor the technical skill to interpret your message. Having that said, taken award of some kind
