I’d just like to add I’m a UK user using the us server. The quality of the stream is far better than I’ve ever gotten using my usual pia VPN. So yeah it’s working here for me and I highly recommend you at least try it out

I don’t wanna push my luck but ideally if you wanna appeal to most of the users that you will get for F1TV, you want a desktop app in some form.

It would seem that F1TV are blocking IPs at a large scale, with the majority of server providers blocked wholesale (so you can’t simply set up a self-hosted VPN with a cloud server provider).

I’m impressed that it’s working currently, but can StreamLocator really avoid the block long term, if F1TV are willing to block any non-domestic IPs at a large scale?

My concern would be that as soon as F1TV are aware of StreamLocator, they will quickly be able to block it, with large numbers of users sharing IPs belonging to a small number of ASNs.

Since I don’t have FireTV or Android. The hub is pricey but potentially worth if it it works

  • What’s different about StreamLocator compared with other VPN providers? Why wouldn’t F1TV block this too?

  • Does my entire device have to be geolocated to (say) the USA? Or is there functionality to redirect only F1TV traffic?

Is there a non-app way to use this, or does all the magic that lets you watch stuff happen because it’s in the app? I tend to watch on my PC, with a HDMI running into my TV, or my laptop if I’m not at home.

Does watching it on the phone/tablet app allow you to cast it to a TV? You can’t currently cast F1TV to a TV if you’re watching it through a VPN. I’d be very interested if this app gets around that.

UK Chromecast user here.

I noticed the other night when connected to the US servers to watch last weeks GP on catch up, it seemed there was a lot of buffering. Today for the F3 Pratice catchup it seems to be 1080p60 and streaming really well, so nice work.

Are there any plans to add an EU server to your F1TV offerings or did something get changed during the week to improve your service?

Either way if this weekend goes smoothly you have a new customer!

Just installed this on my AndroidTV and it worked instantly! Thank you!

I will definitely subscribe after the F1 summer break because my local F1 coverage is absolutely horrible and F1TV is the only way I want to watch.

Will you ever offer anything for Apple? Apple TV or iOS?

I tried installing it on my phone. Does this only work on TVs? F1TV is not on the list on the streamlocator app.

It’s working flawlessly on my Fire TV in the UK, thanks for saving me from Sky for at least one more race.

Seeing as this doesn’t block IP addresses, won’t it be easy for them to see where we’re streaming from and just block the entire account

Can confirm streamlocator app is working on android. So far quality is great. Will have to look into buying this for the second half of the season I think. Was previously using protonVPN. Fuck sky.

Hi, thanks for setting up this thread. I’m trying out the app and am tempted to get the hub. Currently I’m running an bt open reach modem into an orbit mesh system. The faqs on your website seem to suggest I can run Ethernet from the modem straight into the streamlocater hub and then lan from one of the gigabyte ports on the streamlocater hub to my orbi. Will that work ok? Thanks. I think when doing this I could probably keep my orbit in router mode rather than ap mode. Thanks!
