VPN on a business laptop with no admin rights possible?

My girlfriend comes from Spain and I live in Germany. She often comes visiting me and is working from my home without that her company is knowing about. Today her IT department asked her for her laptops IP adress and now she is concerned, that they will know about that she is sometimes working from Germany without permission.

Is there any possibility to let her company think she is still working from Spain while she is here at my place? I am a total noob with VPNs, Proxys and so on, I just googled it and found out, that a VPN could help with that.

Unfortunately she also has no admin rights and therefore cannot install any VPN app. Is there still a way to connect to some sort of VPN website without the need of installing something or having admin rights?

Or is there another alternative for that, maybe something I could do with my wifi router?

Thank you very much in advance!!! And please note, I am not a pro at all when it comes to this, so an easy explanation would be great and much appreciated

Setup the VPN on your router and they won’t know any different.

Look for routers that support VPNs

if you used a vpn on your machine and connected to Spain while also using your laptop as a connection point for hers it could work in theory. Basically turning your pc in to a router that’s “in Spain”

Thank you very much! Do you know if the brand “fritz!box” will support this?

Never heard of them, but you can get another router from someone like Tplink and plug that into the one from your ISP and set it to DHCP mode then set up the VPN on it.

It’s different for each router so can’t be more detailed sorry.
