VPN Browser Extension Missing Features/Functionality from the App: Will we ever see them in the Browser Extension in the Future? I think they need to be added

Secure Core, Auto Connect, Split Tunnelling, WebRTC Leak Protection, and Notifications are the only features on the VPN Browser Extension.

The below screen shots below show the VPN app features (which should be part of the browser extension):

The triangle plus button VPN Plus symbol next to some settings is for paid customer’s only. I’m on a free plan and might upgrade.

When comparing the VPN features from the app and the browser extension, the following features are on both: Secure Core and Split Tunnelling. WebRTC Leak Protection and IPv6 Leak Protection are different I think but if you guys think it’s more or less the same thing, I guess that can ‘count’ as a feature on both.

When comparing the VPN features from the app and the browser extension, the following options are missing: Protocol selection, VPN Accelerator, Moderate NAT, Custom DNS, Port Forwarding, DNS Leak Protection, Allow Alternative Routing, IPv6 Leak Protection, and Hardware Acceleration. Netshield, Kill Switch, and Profiles (no screen shot provided) from the app is also missing for the browser extension.
Will these be added to the browser extension at some point in the future?

Hello, some of them like Netshield could be considered in the future, but some are irrelevant for the browser extension such as Hardware Acceleration. Browser extension proxy requests using a limited set of tools that the browser exposes to its installed extensions. For instance it’s just not possible to have WireGuard or OpenVPN inside the browser, and the only protocol being both reliable and secure that browser would allow to use is HTTPS, so basically you will never have a Protocol selection in the browser extension, it will always be HTTPS.

It would not be helpful anyway to try to mimic desktop features in the browser extension, they just work differently and serve slightly different purposes, and it makes more sense for the browser extension to have its own roadmap with features that are relevant for the platform.
