Valentine's Deal and VPN question

Hey everyone,

I’m currently subsribed to the Mail Plus tier, but I’m planning to use the Valentine’s Deal to upgrade to Unlimited. I’m primarily interested in the 500 GB storage and VPN that I’d get because I want to cancel my subscription at NordVPN and NordLocker that I currently have.

However, here are a few things that confuse me:

  1. When I open Proton Mail, I get a “Valentine’s Deal” badge in the upper right corner that offers Unlimited for €6.49/month (1 year plan). This offer says that VPN is included but only has 10 connections. Can I chose which connections to use or are these predefined? How many devices for VPN are included in this plan?

  2. When I go to Pricing | Proton VPN and pick “Proton Unlimited” on the top, the offer is €7.99/month (2 year plan), but it looks like I get full access to VPN meaning I can access all connections. Is this true? Why are there three different prices for the same tier - 9.99 €, 7.99 € and 6.49 €? It’s a bit confusing.

Anyway, would love to know what’s included in all those special deals so I can decide if I should upgrade to Unlimited, or to keep Mail Plus and subscribe to Proton VPN since there’s also a Valentine’s deal.

Unlimited is the same everywhere, as it contains the paid versions (Mail Plus, Drive Plus, VPN Plus, Pass Plus, SimpleLogin Premium)

  1. 10 connections = 10 simultaneous VPN connections on different devices.

  2. Proton Unlimited gives you access to premium Proton VPN regardless of where you subscribe from. You still get 10 connections, with access to all of our premium servers.

$6.49 Valentine Special
$7.99 monthly price on 2 year subscription, only available for existing customers already on two year subs.
$9.99 ongoing monthly charge for yearly subscription

If you are currently on a 2 yearly Mail Plus plan I highly recommend to upgrade to 2 yearly Unlimited. This is slightly cheaper than the Valentines deal for one year then 9.99 the next.

And your ongoing charge will be $7.99/month instead of 9.99. You do the math.

I have Mail Plus now and I have 1 VPN connection included. However, I can’t chose which server I want to use. I can use the one that the app gives me :frowning:

Thank you for the clarification. What confuses me is that I have 1 VPN connection in my current plan (Mail Plus), but I can’t choose which server I want. In Unlimited, can I pick whichever server/country I want?

That makes sense, 7.99 for 2 years, and 9.99 for 1 year. I’ll probably go with the 2-year plan then

Mail Plus includes the free VPN plan, thats is normal.

Unlimited would give you Plus versions of all products
