SonicWall Global VPN Client asking for administrator password?

I have a standard domain user without administrator permissions on a domain computer (1 of a couple hundred users that use SonicWall Global VPN Client) and suddenly when she goes to run the application it’s asking for an administrator username/password to run the app.

It has previously worked on this machine for years prior to this.

I checked the security permissions under properties, she has full permissions, is listed as the owner but still asking for an administrator password. I uninstalled/reinstalled and still have the same issue.

Anybody seen this before? Like I said, I’ve installed/setup this on a couple hundred computers without issues and have never seen this happen.

Windows 7 pro 64 bit

Never seen that happen. Have also installed it on hundreds on machines. Did you download it from the proper sonicwall site?

Try running procmon and see what resource her account is being denied?

Probably silly question, but the “run as administrator” checkbox didn’t get inadvertently checked for the executable, did it?

Sounds like a UAC issue. Make any GPO changes recently?

Downloading from the website solved it. Thanks. Still have no idea what caused it. I did try the suggestions below before posting (besides procman) but wasn’t the issue. Not sure what happened here but appreciate the tips from everyone.

Actually, I have the install stored on my fileserver (which I normally use for the install). I’ll try the site and see if that works.

Thanks for updating!
