Share your experience and download speeds from Surfshark VPN

Doing some searching on Surfshark did not yield any “share your experience/download speeds on surfshark” so I thought I would start one.

My home connection is 75Mbps down and 5 Mbps up in California so I connect to the LAX peer site, downloading a popular torrent which usually maxes out my cable connection (7.5 MB/s or so) seems to hit a wall on SurfShark at around 1.0 MB/s - I tried both TCP and UDP protocols, got a little boost from UDP but not much.

Anyone else noticing such speeds?

I had hoped I would have been able to max out my 7.5 MB/s but I may be living in a dream or are there VPN provides who do max out your connection, if so who?

sorry I am very new to using VPNs for torrenting.

never even heard of that vpn… you wanna be using one like expressvpn, airvpn, ivpn, or mullvad

Did you ever get this resolved? I just started with Surfshark and my speeds went from about 60mb down (usually around 9-11mbs download on torrents to a popular torrent downloading at 512kbs

Aye. Looks to be very new. While there may be nothing wrong with it at all, but I certainly wouldn’t to be guinea pigging it. Also, given how competitive and saturated the VPN market already is, I wouldn’t pay in advance for the service as they may well not be around too long.
