So I’m getting a bit ambitious… I got into a bit of a war against my schools network administrator (or who ever decided to block just about everything) and it has gotten to the point that most of the VPN I can use freely don’t work anymore. After a couple of searches I learned what ‘Stealth VPNs’ are and why they might work, but I don’t want to pay just to browse freely, not to mention making my own VPN sounds like a lot of fun.
Since OpenVPN is open source, can I setup my own service and connect to it? And can I modify that to strip the data from the header and tunnel that back on my computer (make it ‘Stealthy’)? Not much of a ‘Is it possible?’ as it is a ‘Is it viable to do?’ question.
I’m no where near being an expert in hacking and my experience is mostly just this on going tug-of-war with 90% of it being a change of vpn, but this guy has blocked programming documentation pages like lua under the excuse that it has a ‘game’ tag and refuses to unblock them, and two of my courses were made very difficult because of him, plus the bonus of the thrill of being able to get past him.
TL;DR: Can I setup a Stealthy OpenVPN server for free without to much practical knowledge about networking? (even if it means a couple weeks of study and work?)
EDIT: I use my own computer, we don’t usually have class in the computer rooms, not even any programming courses and if I’m going to work at home anyways there’s no use of not using it at school I guess.
