Stupid question, I probably sound like a newbie, but will using a Chrome Extension VPN affect any of my other applications on my PC? I just want a VPN when browsing on Chrome, nothing else. So, for example, idk, if I am playing Minecraft, I do not want my VPN active on there, only when I am browsing on Chrome.
Yes, a browser extension VPN will only effect the browser and no other programs.
It won’t affect other stuff, but it also isn’t a VPN if it’s running in a browser. It’s a proxy, and they’re fully just lying about what it is to avoid even explaining what it is they sell. People know the term VPN so they just use it and it causes confusion.
Also if it’s free you’re giving your data to worse people than you were originally trying to hide it from.
