Is there a technical reason they’re not allowing usernames with a dot anymore? It seems pretty ridiculous.
I assume you mean usernames used for the whatchamacallit? If not, perhaps you can be a bit more specific?

We have just changed our admin concept and it uses a dot!
What about the usernames that have dots in it, after updating to 7.4?

They created a new standard for the whatchamacallit that no longer accepts dots for usernames.
In firmware 7.4 Fortinet removed the ability to add usernames to the FW that have a dot in the username (firstname.lastname).
Why did they do this?
I have no idea. I know Fortinet monitors this subreddit. Id love an answer.
