Need advise, user from Mexico

I bought a fire stick 4K but almost all apps and content is geo-blocked here in Mexico. I thought that by getting a vpn like Windscribe would solve my problems, but after installing an even buying 1 month of service seems like it doesn’t work like I thought it would. Don’t get me wrong, the VPN it self works great even my internet speed is better. But I still cannot buy, download apps or even use Alexa, because of the geo-restrictions. Windscribe “filters” the internet signal for each app individually, like Netflix and YouTube and they switch to the US when I turn on the VPN, but I need something to unlock the stick itself so I can use Alexa or download app like if I were in the US.

Am I doing something wrong? Or this is just the way VPNs work? Thanx in advance.

Are you using regular connections or the windflix connections? I could be misunderstanding your question but the windflix connections are meant to be used for Netflix or Hulu and things like that to prevent the “disconnect your vpn to use or services” problem

You may need an Amazon account based on the us to work. Try connecting to us windflix and seeing up a new Amazon account with a fake us address.

Ok i will try again. Last time I created a US based account already. Used an address from LA, an uncle I have in CA. The only thing I don’t remember is if I was connected to Windscribe when I created that account. So it’s not such a bad idea to try again. Thanks.

Yes sorry I think I’m not explaining my self very well. My problem is, because I live in Mexico I cannot download or use apps like Pluto tv or Crackle. If I try to download it just says unavailable. So I thought a VPN would solve that problem, but it is still not working. The VPN works and “filters” the connection with the apps that I already have installed but when I try to download the apps that were blocked before they are still blocked. I thought the VPN would make the stick “think” that it is located IN the US and I could be use it like if I were inside the US.

But it seems that VPN “filters” the connections for the apps individually, the one that I already have change their location to the US when I turn the VPN on. But he stick itself is not changing, it doesn’t “believe” it’s in the US, therefore I still can’t download apps that only work in the USA or not even use Alexa, since Alexa doesn’t work in Mexico.

Thank you for answering, and I actually already did that. When I set it up I created a US-based account with an address from the US from some relatives who live in LA. But I still have the problem, when I turn on the VPN the apps that I already have like Netflix or YouTube they switch to the US, but the stick itself, the operating system of the stick is not detecting it in the US.

So my problem continues, if I want to download an app that it’s only available in the US I click on download and it says unavailable. And Alexa is not working, since it doesn’t work in Mexico. So the VPN is not changing the whole system to the US only the apps that I already have installed. Any help would be really appreciated thank you.

Does following this do anything?

Already checked and everything seems right. It set it to an address in the us. Unfortunately it’s not working. I’m trying to download Pluto tv but it says “Unavailable”. Thank you anyways.

Are you connecting to the Windflix US server? And Alexa doesn’t work with a VPN…regardless of the server. But Amazon Video and Netflix should work with windflix.

Yes, netflix and other apps work very good with windflix, problem is I cannot download other apps like Pluto tv, crackle, etc because of geo-restriction. I thought using a VPN would remove the geo-restriction but seems that even using a VPN I won’t be able to download those apps. At least not directly from amazon. I’ll try using Aptoid.
