Microsoft SSE (Security Service Edge) as a replacement for SSL VPN
This is Microsoft’s way of implementing and enabling Zero Trust, and a SASE like approach.
VPNs are old, Zero Trust is in.
Right now Global Secure Access is in preview and the client isn’t baked into Windows yet but is coming soon.
I think once its baked in the experience will improve alot.
I’ve tested Global Secure Access, and I wouldn’t recommend it for medium to high bandwidth applications. Also, it is a pain setting up any custom routing as you need to setup your own enterprise applications in azure from my understanding. For remote work, it will probably be great. For anything else including hybrid, you will probably not prefer it.
Have a few small clients using Global Secure Access and it has been very good so far.
Yups my thoughts exactly.
Gotcha. Im assuming Microsoft will really focus on building this product out in the future though.
