Is it possible to use a VPN on xbox one?
You can run the VPN on a laptop and share your internet through it to your Xbox. I’ve done it no problem.
Lol, just saw you post this on the /r/addons4Kodi. The Kodi app doesn’t have full functionality so I don’t know if the Xbox portion would work. My first thought is it would be best to implement a VPN at the router level. But for gaming, you would need to turn it off when not using kodi.
It’s definitely possible. Follow any of the tutorials online to vpn through a laptop. I’m using Private Internet Access as my vpn and then tunneling through UDP port 53. Keep in mind that you may have DNS server issues depending on what part of the world you want to appear in. I found 8.8.4.4 to work well but sometimes you might want to use 8.8.8.8
Depending on how sophisticated your firewall is, it is possible to only route torrent traffic over the VPN (which is the protocol most if not all of these plugins use).
For instance pfsense can do it, as seen with this tutorial

Kodi also supports proxies. This might be a viable alternative as long as all plugin traffic transverses the proxy.
best to implement a VPN at the router level.
The only method besides what was listed, would most likely involve a ton of work and hardware, and would not really be worth it IMHO.
Looool yeah, that’s why I said in the post on the kodi subreddit without ethernet cable and without configuring it at router level. Not ideal to have literally everything running through a VPN, and disabling it would be a nuisance

I’ve VPN on my router for one AP, you just change wireless networks to ‘turn off’ VPN for a device. Doesn’t get and simpler

Without messing with it though it looks like we would have to reupload the .zip repo to a host of our own to get it on xbox, which isn’t an issue and may work… Might have to try this way out!

Yeahhh on further inspection, in theory, that wouldn’t work either because you wouldn’t be able to get openVPN onto the Xbox.
