Is a VPN worth it?

My Target: unlock blocked games, their microtransactions and improve ping.

  1. Amazon Published games like Lost Ark and Blue Protocol are restricted behind the steam region lock.

  2. Tower of Fantasy, another locked game, but can download and play using its own launcher like Genshin. I can’t purchase (microtransactions) anything because the purchase page never opens.

  3. Games like NARAKA BladePoint and Battlefield (s) have high ping. 80ms in Naraka and over 120ms in Battlefield.

I looked up Cloudflare WARP but from the looks of it JIO has blocked it a year ago.

I do not trust Free VPNs. Remember, I may even make purchases while connected to the VPN.

I’m skeptical about heavily sponsored VPNs like: ExpressVPN, NordVPN and SurfShark.

I am using JIO Fibre 100Mbps Plan (approx. 12MB/s).

I want to know which VPN you guys use.

Ive been using warp on jio since years… just stopped using jio for some other reason a month ago so idk if it works as of now

Are you sure a VPN will improve your pings? Doesn’t it add extra latency? I use windscribe free Tier 15gb per month is free but I’m on airtel so I use it as an extension in a browser to browse sites blocked like streamble etc. Also most VPNs decommissioned their India servers because of the stupid new law which requires them to save and share user data with the govt

I’ve been using NordVPN for online payments, shopping, browsing, etc. for almost 4 years now and they’ve found a permanent customer in me. I haven’t been paying just for the services, but my main reason being that they’ve proved their worth to customers. When the Indian Government forced VPNs to share data, Nord was among the first to step up and say they’ll remove their Indian servers if the Government forces them to share data and that’s exactly what they’ve done to protect their users. They’ve stuck to their ideologies so far, so I’m with them for data privacy. However, for gaming I use ExitLag and they’re the best for that purpose. I wouldn’t recommend anything else for gaming.

I don’t know about today but in future when India will start banning video games then VPN will definitely be useful.

It’s still working. I use it daily to connect to surfshark. I know Jio banned surfshark but never heard anything about warp.

Alas, Jio Fibre is the only option in the village where I live.

I use warp on Jio fiber everyday. Where did you hear that it was banned on Jio? It’s not banned.

Okay, I tried WARP. It gets connected but doesn’t work at all. DNS 1.1.1.1 works but not with WARP.

What exactly isn’t working when it gets connected?

I don’t know how to explain in technical terms. I connect to WARP → The internet stops working → fast.com rarely opens up → and it gets stuck at 0 speed
