I’ve had the iPhone 15 Pro since end of September and I notice it runs really slow on both data and WiFi. My old phone, an iPhone XR ran faster when I still used it. I also compared internet speeds with my friend who has an iPhone 14 Pro Max and her phone had a download speed of 20mbps, versus my 0.70mbps, on the same internet.
What do I do to fix this? Kind of annoying my 5 year old phone runs faster than the newest iPhone.
I just tried resetting my network settings & it made a noticeable difference to my data speed connection ie loading time. Definite must try. I have an iPhone 15 pro. Hopefully this has solved it.
I checked and it was disabled on icloud but if you go to wifi for the current connection it is enabled by default for any wifi connection.
When you disable it your wifi will say insecure connection but turn it off is night and day in speed. 20mbs vs 200mbs.
I don’t understand how such a feature can be enabled by default when it slows you down so much and even causes frequent disconnections or internet pauses.
Sorry to revive an old thread… My work phone is an iPhone 12, it was 200 mbps faster download and over 100 mbps faster upload than my iPhone 15 pro max. I think the iPhones are just becoming garbage over time…
Anyone figure it out? I have tried everything said above and it only fixes the issue for maybe 30 minutes max then goes back to being super slow on data or wifi.
I have a similar issue except that my mobile internet LTE is super slow in my house, like sometimes 0.5 Mbps but when I go outside and go up the street it jumps to 600 Mbps. Then my wifi is also super inconsistent. It jumps from 0.5 to 500 Mbps also. I’m typically using it and testing it about 40 feet from the router. Does anyone know what’s causing this? I’m with Verizon Wireless and FIOS. My gf does not have the same issues with her Samsung S23 Ultra, so I’m thinking it’s a problem with Apple.
I face the same issue. However, just by speedtest app. I don’t know if you’re that much non-tech like me but I tested using MB/s rather than Mbps, which 1 MB/s will be close to 8 Mbps. I ran the test again after changing the unit, I am good now.
These phones are overpriced pieces of garbage flat out…I have A iphone XR and have been using it now for several months, up until recently the the wifi I have been connected to just doesn’t want to work on the phone, the wifi runs great on laptop and android devices, but not princess iphone!
Same thing happening to me. 130+ mbps on laptop but only 13 mbps on iPhone. Restarting the phone fixed it for just a few mins then back again to slow speeds. It can’t even handle a video call. Did you find a fix?
Tengo exactamente el mismo problema. La
Lentitud es extrema y cuesta muchísimo funcionar con el. Cuál es el problema del IPhone 15??? Hay alguna solución???
Anyone figure it out for sure? I just went thru this the last year, ignorant of speeds I should have got. Could barely dl Reddit videos to watch unless I was on WiFi or maybe a few minutes after I reset my phone. But it was sooooo slow; even on the best days, after the tech in the store looked at it, after I replaced it with a new one. Finally I got ahold of someone in the chat who got it fixed I think, but I have 5G and UW for the first time I can remember. There’s so much evidence that this was not on purpose; but allowed to happen from laziness, stupidity, malice, or just maybe what Verizon trains reps to do. I’m gunna make the rep in that store admit to what she did, or tell me she’s the most clueless 5yr employee and lied by ignorance of everything that I asked. Simple questions- will a iPhone 15pro or Max play games or videos better then the base, and same thing a month later with tablets. Both times I got the bullshit they had on hand; she assured me over and over they have the exact same specs. Fuck…everything I was trying to avoid, she put me right into and I been paying out the ass for a year to have the equivalent of my Nokia cell phone i went to prison with(2008). A sick ass square one that opened on a corner. A corner hinge one, I thought it was so sick lol but no shit; it downloaded music faster then any phone I’ve had since lol Verizon isn’t infallible and can be held responsible just like anyone else.
Did factory resetting the phone help anyone? Mine is shocking. I have a pixel also that has zero issues but sometimes I prefer to use the iPhone, but it just constantly conks out.
I have no idea, but let’s try these things (I don’t know if it will change anything):
Restart your iPhone normally. So hold the Side Button and Volume Up or Volume Down Button simultaneously until it gives you the option to “Slide to power off”.
Wait several seconds before powering it back on, like I don’t know 5 or 10. It should start up when you’ve had the Side Button held down for 3 seconds. If it doesn’t start up after holding it down for 3 seconds, then release the Side Button, wait a second or two just in case it’s already powering on, and try again if it isn’t.
If that doesn’t improve anything, then restart like this:
Press the Volume Up button one time
Press the Volume Down button one time
Hold the Side Button until the display goes black and then you can release the Side Button. From there, just wait for iPhone to restart.
Failing that, reset Network Settings:
Make sure you know your Wi-Fi password.
In the Wi-Fi Settings, tap the blue circle with the lower-case ‘i’ in it for your Wi-Fi network, tap your password and write it down or type it somewhere.
Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone
Tap “Reset” (don’t worry, it just brings up a menu)
Tap Reset Network Settings
This next one is new to me, so I don’t know if I should tell you to do it. However, you may also need to do “Delete All eSIMS” in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset. I don’t know what will happen next from there, but as I recall, I think I can just download another eSIM whenever I want because I remember having that option when setting up my iPhone and the option didn’t go away when I was all done.
Anyway, after all this, it can be good to restart your iPhone (normally) again just to make sure you have a nice fresh iOS and user session. So yeah, I just mean the “Slide to power off” thing.
If your internet performance is still bad after all this, then I recommend having a qualified/trained technician look at it.
Not sure if I have a similar problem or not. Wifi ran slow on my XR and my 15 Plus also seems to have a similar issue. Annoying as I mainly upgraded to “fix” the issue. Does disabling Bluetooth in your settings (not control center) help your internet speed? It helps mine but is super annoying as I use Bluetooth in the car, as well as with my Apple Watch and AirPods. I’m hoping for a fix. Software issue maybe? Though my XR had the same problem on iOS 16 while my 15 is on 17.
