I do not need Bitdefender’s VPN, I have my own which is on all the time. Bitdefender irritates me whenever I connect in an open WiFi environment. I keeps popping up asking if I want to connect to the Bitdefender VPN. I do not. How do I switch off this annoyance?

Under settings you could try to disable the “Special Offers” and “Recommended notifications”, as far as Im aware those are the only options regarding notifications
Disable the VPN in the “Startup” tab within Task Manager. It might also install an executable that is able to be uninstalled within Control Panel > Programs and Features.
In BitDefender, navigate to Settings > General and ensure “Special Offers” and “Recommended Notifications” are toggled off. Then, navigate to Protection > Vulnerability > Settings and ensure “Wi-Fi Security Advisor” is toggled off.
Reboot your computer and the VPN should no longer be in the taskbar and you should no longer receive any alerts regarding the VPN.
I’ve had biddefender installed for 8 months. I don’t use its VPN and have never gotten pestered.

I bought Bitdefender’s VPN, and it never ever worked properly. I always had to turn it off to use Office 365 or send anything whatsoever to OneDrive. Maybe you are lucky if you don’t have it connecting.
Bitdefender’s reply is to “turn off notifications for Bitdefender”. Why would one have to stop “all” notifications to stop being harassed with adware from a product that is supposed to protect you from adware. I don’t want to “purchase” your VPN Bitdefender! I already have a VPN. I shouldn’t have to disable all notifications “lowering” my security and safety to stop being harassed with “YOUR” pop up asking me to PURCHASE your VPN. This is the mobile app, turning off special offers, etc, in the one’s account has no affect on this.
Yes, it happens only in open WiFi conditions but my own VPN is already running so Bitdefender VPN is not needed. It would be good if Bitdefender could check before issuing the notification and desist if anoother VPN is already running. It often repeats the notification several times despite being told not to start.
Have you connected to an open WiFi during that time?
Actually I worked it out for myself eventually. Click the warning notification for a particular insecure wifi and there is a slider that allows one to deactivate the warning just for that one.
