Was hoping to use Google One VPN on my chrome OS WITHOUT turning on Play store/Android apps. Anyone have a quick guide? I tried searching for this but mostly get problems with wireguard/ or info about seeing up the app.
Same here. Kind of funny how some google products don’t work well on chrome os (i.e. the vpn and podcast app). You would think those things would be integrated perfectly, no app store necessary.
May not be possible. I see on Windows/Mac you can install software. On chrome OS looks like you may have to install the app. They do have VPN settings in Chrome OS but might have to bite the bullet and pay another provider (mullvad)
I want to know the same, so far nothing. I do have it set up via the Play Store app, but there doesn’t seem to be a way cut the internet connection for everything else until the VPN connects.
I just need it in public Wi-Fi and shopping at home Depot/Amazon during work. Don’t care about them targeting ads based on sites I go to. Not doing anything illegal.
Google has strong internal security safeguards about who has access to various kinds of user data and strong internal processes for how quickly certain kinds of data is deleted (or not even logged in the first place). I trust few (no?) orgs more to stay out of my business.
