Cisco Secure Client 5.0.x Backwards Compatible with AnyConnect 4.10.x?

I’ve had my first client “require” the new Cisco Secure Client 5.0.x software. If I upgrade my laptop from the current AnyConnect 4.10.x client, will I be able to connect to the “older” VPNs with the new Cisco client? If not, can the new Secure Client be installed alongside the AnyConnect Client?

there is a compatibility matrix

it is not that simple. it depends on ASA Software and XML Versions for client Profile

In testing at my location, yes, it will work fine with you connecting to your existing VPN concentrators where most/all other clients are 4.x. Of course, we haven’t tested everything, but 5.0 seems to work great even on older ASAs in my limited experience.

It’s just a rebrand and it will include AMP if you install the same version. So no longer two applications.

Everything will be migrated and works the same way as in version 4.

Thanks. Looks like I’m going to have to test all the client connections anyway.
