Hey, so as said in the title iPlayer seems to them my iPad is outside the UK when it’s not. I’ve had iPlayer for years and it’s been fine so was wondering what’s suddenly gone wrong.

If you have an paid iCloud subscription and you’re running iPadOS 15. Then it’s likely you have iCloud Private Relay turned on. This is an iCloud feature for safari. It basically acts like a VPN. You can turn this off in your iCloud settings. And you can also change the settings to maintain your general location.

Just solved this maddening problem! It’s your VPN that is on, showing a different country, maybe if you’ve been watching Netflix for instance. Switch your VPN to OFF and you’ll be back in the UK to enjoy iPlayer!

Important: I should have added that it was discovered that my Avast security had altered my programming.

You on a non Uk VPN?

Yes, this! Even on my Mac, having it on causes Hulu to not play content unless is turn icloud private relay off or switch browsers.

I think I’m just on a normal wifi

when I go on setting it just says VPN - not connected
