All US servers showing ridiculously high latency

I’m on a Mac running Sonoma v14.5 with a good 1 MBPS fiber connection, using the latest available Mac client. I usually use the Silicon Valley server with no issues. These last several days, the latency speeds have been ridiculous: 652 MS instead of the usual 8-12 MS. All of the US-based servers now show speeds in the 650-690 MS range. I’m now using Monaco (!) at 188 MS, which seems to be the “fastest” server available; this is causing me all sorts of issues. Anybody else having these problems? What’s going on with PIA? Time for another VPN provider?

That’s because you’re probably on a VPN connection already. Try disconnecting it. If not reboot your modem and router. If it continues sounds like your ISP.

I’ve tried quitting out of PIA and restarting several times. I’ve also restarted my router - PIA is still unusable. Anybody else out there having this problem? (I can’t even log into Reddit with PIA on!)

I tried one more thing - downloaded the “latest” Mac installer from PIA’s site (which has the same version # as what I have already installed). I ran the installer, and it made a difference - now Indiana is the fastest, at 48 MS. Way better than 650 MS, but not as good as the 8-12 MS I was getting a few days ago. 48 MS at least usable.

I asked about this a few days ago and got no reply. I used to get latency in the low 20’s and I live near NYC. Now they are in the 50’s or higher and other counties like Brazil have lower latency than near me! WTH?

yea, all servers are bad for me as well.

Hmmm…another Mac user here and I went to check my ping times after reading your post and like you I suddenly have no ping time below 100ms then I normally have them in the 10-50 range.
