I am coming to Oman soon, and I know some websites, VOIP … etc are blocked in Oman.
So VPN
what is the actually blocked stuff other than messenger calls?
and what VPN do you use to access this stuff?
Also. is it criminalized to be caught using VPN or Meh?

Most VPNs including Nord make you commit to 1-2 year packages though.
If you only want it for one month for a reasonable price, you should get Mullvad for $5. I have never used it myself but always seen great reviews about it.
Beware there is technically a 500 OMR fine for it. But I’ve never heard of anyone being fined yet.
To be safe, I only turn on my VPN for short periods when I need to video call or use any blocked services
all jokes a side. Proton VPN is the best free VPN in my opinion. I use it in android and I don’t even know where is the app in my phone cuz I get a quick connect shortcut in my notifications panal, so I never watch an ad or even open the app, its unlimited data with reasonable speed, and I can keep it running all day.
