What does this mean?

I’ve seen this error before when ppl were not using the latest version of the app. Are you using the latest version?

Your probably holding on to an old version of the app because the newer version sucked. That old version is now no longer supported by Nord and so you get this message. If you delete the old version and download and install the newest version, this message will go away

IDK but i also just got it, same thumbprint and all.

TLS certs are issued by certifying authorities. They verify the security encryption on the website and in some cases provide it. If a website doesn’t have a valid cert you’ll get this error.

Not sure why nord doesn’t recognize it, haven’t been able to find any revocation notice or anything and it’s still listed on globalsign’s site: https://support.globalsign.com/ca-certificates/root-certificates/globalsign-root-certificates

I too had this pop up a couple hours ago with the exact same thumbprint. I had no luck looking it up at the time so I just clicked to not trust it.

Check your OS time & date settings

i also got the same today, what option did you hit

Got the same error, I fatfingered the Trust-button by mistake, so then I had to remove the cert manually. People are saying it may have something to do with the recent update.

Is it ok to just press don’t trust? Updating didn’t seem to remove msg

I had this message a few weeks back,. I’d had a very brief (few seconds) internet interruption and it came directly after that. In my case, a simple restart of the device fixed the problem and I never saw the error again.

Getting this as well when starting the app. Exact same cert info. Desktop app, it’s up to date, and my time/date are correct. I have restarted twice. Looks like something on Nord’s end, or someone they work with. I’m not going to use it until they correct it.

EDIT: I fully uninstalled the VPN client and reinstalled, still getting the same error.

I also had this issue today. Tried to update the app, but it wouldn’t start the update.

Uninstalled and downloaded the app again. It’s a newer version, looks completely different and the problem went away.

I got this as well today. Makes me think Nord are having an issue with their licenses.

Did you try updating? Did that fix it?

this actually might be it, i redownloaded it and it looks so different now.

I had exact same message and can confirm that installing the latest version made this error go away.

I also had this problem. Searched nordvpn website, no useful info whatsoever. Searched the internet, found crap info about expired certificates, 3rd party apps, antivirus programs, etc, etc. Found this comment, searched the nordvpn dashboard and found a meshnet update button. Updated and the problem is gone. Thanks.

Yeah I haven’t updated mine yet, so that’ll probably be it

The new version wouldn’t install for me and without the old installer to fall back to I’m dead in the water.
