You need both ideally - do not forego antivirus to use this particular VPN though. The reason it conflicts is because Surfshark are trying to push their antivirus now, so your options would be to either give in to their tactics and use that instead of Norton, or get rid of Surfshark and look at another VPN.
Personally I wouldn’t use Norton (look at a few comparison reviews for 2022), but I wouldn’t advocate using Surfshark’s alternative either.
I personally use surfshark vpn together with bitdefender and I didn’t experience any issues or conflict. I did not subscribe to surfshark’s antivirus package though as it’s still quite new. I wouldn’t also recommend using norton. I personally think you’re better off with microsoft defender.
Mafia ultra is no good. Any program who shows up at my door and demands money for protection is suspect at best. Fuck those guys. It even takes research to truly uninstall Norton. Wtf is that shit.
I had Bitdefender for a year, now I use Emsisoft. None of them had any problem with SS (I have been using SS for two years). VPN does not protect from malicious websites, highly recommend using some AV.
Please people. The question is not: what antivirus should I get rid off to make Surfshark work. The question is: Why is Surfshark still not working properly under many antivirus programs because it’s seen as malware? Why doesn’t Surfshark fix this?
