Welp, my VPN subscription finally bit the dust

After using Surfshark for 3 years, my subscription finally expired, and now I wanna know what you all use! And what you’d recommend, since I’m in the market now

ProtonVPN. I’ve been using it for 3 years now with no problems. Lots of exit nodes around the world and it has been almost uniformly fast regardless of which one I choose or where in the world I travel.

Mullvad or protonvpn if you’re already paying for their fantastic service.

Proton and Mullvad seem to be heavy favorites here… I like Mullvad, haven’t used Proton for torrents

Right now I have Nord cause I got a dirt cheap 3 year subscription. And I can say it works just fine for torrents, albeit it’s a bit slow sometimes.

I use mullvad, had no problems with it yet

AirVPN has always served me well.

I just switched to Mullvad after trying all the major ones, Nord, Proton, Surfshark, and one called TunnelBear idk if that’s still around. So far Mullvad has been my favorite. Others can provide specific features but I just think it’s the easiest setup and best speed/server options, and price is good. Also no logging policy is nice even though idk if it really guarantees anything

I’ve been using PIA solely for the port forwarding. Would love to hear a reason to switch to a different one, though

Windscribe for at least 6 years. Lots of different ways to use it on all devices. Referral below.

Proton VPN. Extremely fast, based in Switzerland, and port forwarding.

The Unlimited plan is the full features of it for $12.99 USD/mo plus the whole suite.

What’s not to love?

I am going to get hate for this, but I use NordVPn because I really like the options like obfuscated servers really handy. I have also previously have had good experiences with Express VPN. I just haven’t used anything but Nord for the past, 3-4 years.

Been using Bitdefender VPN, had a nice discount it works better than all the YT sponsored ones, and doesn’t seem to be picked up on as many VPN blocking scripts, and the latency is low enough I’ve not noticed it being on.

In my country VPN services are regularly shut down. So I rented a server and set up wireguard on it. For one user it might be expensive. So i included all my friends and family there. We are splitting the bill, so it costs me like 50 cent a month lol.

Mullvad is pretty good, albeit they no longer support port forwarding, or proton.

I used Mullvad for awhile and it was pretty nice… Nord had a special for 3 years I bought (forget how much). Don’t like it too much though. I have about a year left and I’ll be looking again. My next requirement is one that lets you use most of the internet normally. By this, I mean with Nord, Google gets half blocked and wants a captcha… same with Reddit if I’m not logged in. Kinda a PITA.

ProtonVPN if you use it for general Browsing and such.

Mullvad because they are affordable and very transparent about how they run things.

AirVPN if you just need something for qBittorrent with port forwarding.

Mullvad insanely good and fast, works with my 1Gpbs for incredibly cheap (like 2$ a month I think)

Just curious. Why not renew?

Mullvad is the default choice these days.

If you want a free VPN and connect only to nearby regional hub try Proton VPN free tier.

TorGuard. It works, unlike Mullvad. It doesn’t block my internet connection, it’s affordable and I haven’t got any ISP notices even after torrenting a whole bunch of horse games
