VPN on Beam & Google Play

Has anyone managed to get a VPN to work on the Beam? Ive tried Nord VPN, it can open and you can sign in with your details but no luck trying to connect to a remote server.

I tried to get Google Store to work, but Google Play Services keeps stopping, this block using YouTube and some other Android apps like YouTube.

Beam would be perfect if the VPN and Google Store apps could work.

Play services would be pretty detrimental to the Beam’s performance. Some apps such as YouTube have 3rd party alternatives that don’t use play services however. For YouTube for example, I use Smart YouTube TV
