Want to buy VPN for the next few years. What VPN Service you can recommend to use in Belarus? Mostly going to use VPN to acess AI tools and some other workflow-critical resources being banned in CIS regions.
I have used NordVpn while in Minsk last year, worked like a charm anywhere.
Surfshark. I use VPN like you to acess AI tools and some other workflow.
My favorite is ProtonVPN. Even the free version is good enough for basic functionality. But if the government decides to block everything again like in 2020, it’s better to have Psiphon and Tor installed, and know the Cyberpartisans’ Telegram address (but do not subscribe to their channel: if the police check your phone, you can be arrested for subscribing)
HideMyAss is crazy but for some reason it wouldn’t work anymore in my home country (Turkey) so I began using ProtonVPN instead
I suggest to wait with VPN until at least the end of January, to see what wizardry the state produces from their hats by then. Would be a pity to pay for a service that is blocked.
When I lived in Minsk, I had been using NordVPN constantly. I didn’t have any problems except it may be tricky to configure it on a router due to their own protocol NordLynx, but it is not critical.
I usually just buy private proxies. They’re fast and really cheap (around $1.7/month)
I’m originally from Belarus, and operate r/Windscribe. You should use it
Isn’t it illegal to use VPNs in the country?
Where do you buy it?
