I recently had most apps start to act up when app tracking was enabled. Got notification from duckduckgo offering “VPN always on” switch which cured all problems. Problems back, where is that switch?
- Find the VPN settings in the settings app. Most likely under “network”. You can also just search the settings app for “VPN”.
→ In VPN settings there should be an entry for “DuckDuckGo” - Click on the settings/gear-icon next to DuckDuckGo
- Enable “Always on VPN”
Note: DON’T enable the second option in this dialogue (Block connections without VPN)
Settings → Other Wireless Settings → VPN
May be different on your device.
I suggest the most apps misbehaving was a malware attack. The interesting thing to me is sonething managed to disable my ddg app tracking beta completely and it started like your experience with many always on messages download ddg again and it cleared up… i would claim the version changed also.
Does anyone have suggestions on a good vpn? I don’t want to use Chrome anymore, so I’ve been using duckduckgo and Firefox. I’ve also just downloaded Brave.
I would say I’m a beginner on this topic. Annoyed with TikTok and Temu ads ALWAYS coming up, as well as “liberal” ads news, etc.
Thank you!!
