Hello,
I’ve been using Surfshark on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS.
I just update to the latest version yesterday (v.3.2.1). And it seems it can no longer establish any VPN connection.
it keeps making attempts at connecting, then maxes out and shows the following error:

I’ve always had IpV6 disabled, so I was surprised to see it mentioned in the error above. I’ve turned on IpV6, but still same error. I’ve also tried using different countries/locations, but the same error persist.
Any help is appreciated, thank you!.
Hey. Surfshark indeed does not support IPv6, so this error message is likely caused by having it enabled on your network. If you are sure you have it disabled, there are a few other steps you can try:
- Change the connection protocol by going to the Surfshark app → Settings → VPN settings → Protocol. Make sure to try out all of the available options;
- Try connecting to a few different locations to see if the same issue persists;
- Fully reinstall the Surfshark app on your device
In case none of this helps, please reach out to our customer support team at [email protected] or by joining live-chat on our website. They will investigate further and see what can be done to help.
Thanks for the quick reply!
- I tried changing protocol, still same error.
- Already tried different locations as mentioned in my OP.
- About to try this, but then decided to restart my laptop as there was a massive update including for Surfshark. After restarting, Surfshark was able to connect again, phew! Glad that worked cos I avoided the hassle of removing and reinstalling Surfshark!
Thanks and have a nice day!
