Hello,
i have a question about my VPN security, for example i am in france, then i connect to my VPN to the nearest and best location, but then it connects me somewhere else for example to turkey. So my question is have i been compromised by somebody in turkey ?
No. You’re not connecting to a person. You could run a vpn from France to France and it would make your internet usage secure and private, which is usually the point but not always.
it also has happened to me whenever sometimes i connect to usa from (Pakistan) it sometimes redirect me to uae, why is that
Unless it’s just a bug, we can’t diagnose a hacker for you
I know that i dont connect to a person, i look a person from france with my VPN.
So when the settings are nearest location and the nearest location is not the nearest location ( in my example turkey ) , then is somebody watching me from turkey ?
Normal would be:
My IP → VPN ( france ) → Internet
But can it be:
My IP → hacker location ( turkey ) → VPN ( nearest location in turkey ) → Internet
Or does the VPN provides exactly this ?
I’m trying to understand your question, please forgive me if the answer isn’t exactly meeting the concerns. The vpn “nearest location” is due to your service. The vpn provider you have may not offer France but others do for sure. But it doesn’t matter the country you are connected to, there is little chance anyone can see your activity through the vpn because it’s private and encrypted.
if I understand correctly, any person watching you, will be watching with the assumption that you are using a browser from turkey.
Outside of this (I encourage others to follow-up), unless there’s a key logger of some sort unknown too you, that’d be one way someone hypothetically could hack you
