Netflix, Disney, Spotify, Reddit… Can’t really use if all services blocked. Anyone having the same problem?
Hi, I’m sorry about the trouble you had with these services while using Surfshark. It is true that some services/websites block VPNs, including Surfshark, even though we do our best to provide the smoothest possible browsing experience.
I recommend trying steps from this guide:
https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021935660-Why-am-I-unable-to-access-some-websites-while-connected-to-Surfshark
In case the issue persists, our support team would be happy to take a look - feel free to contact us at [email protected].
Yes especially last few months, I’m having to turn off surf shark almost every other website. New update now allows you to auto bypass vpn on some sites but then what’s the point of vpn?? It’s as if Surfshark now saying turn off your vpn most of the time because we can’t get it to work anymore. I am so pissed off I paid for 3 years in advance, I had really good experience for the first one year.
Honestly starting to give up on vpn services they are all like this now
I’ve had issues with Surfshark for a long time. I usually couldn’t access my bank or my cloud storage service unless I turned the VPN connection off, as well as other websites like Amazon often being extremely slow. The apps wouldn’t connect, the websites wouldn’t load, the functionality would be very spotty when they did. I tried all of the protocols and nothing made a difference. Sometimes switching servers would help, but usually not. However, far more concerning is the fact that I’m pretty sure the VPN was sometimes just not working despite having always-on and killswitch active. My workplace firewall blocks specific websites based on their content or location. I like looking at websites that sell folding knives but many of these are blocked by the firewall for falling under the “weapons/bombs” category, so I just look at them on my phone instead. Usually that works fine, but there were a few times when I’d try to go to a website and it was blocked because the firewall could see exactly what website I was trying to load on my phone. There were other times when websites I’d normally be able to access on my phone were blocked due to their location. In fact, I made a post about it 4 months ago HERE. If my network traffic to/from my personal device is completely transparent, then there’s no point in even using Surfshark in the first place.
I switched to a different VPN service since then and haven’t had one single issue since.
I use surfshark and it’s working fine. Are you using Wireguard Protocol.
That is odd I’m not experiencing any of those issues. On any of the services.
Have you tried servers that you don’t normally use?
Same issue. Start to regret my purchase. Very frequently need to bypass or disable the VPN to access many websites. Their support is also mediocre, always reading and answering by script, issue never gets resolved.
I will not continue my subscription.
No issues at all with any of the streaming sites or in general
Damn, luckily I don’t have this issue.
It’s the same for me as well
Has anyone in here considered the extra like $3 for static IP’s? If so did that resolve the issue?
Yeah it’s pretty worthless now
Why I got rid of them on Dec 27, 2024 after 6yrs.
For me, the app keeps crashing on Mac making the whole thing a bit pointless.
Can confirm using a uk server im experiencing constant issues.
I’ve experienced the issues you’re describing.
I’ve had the issue where I have to turn off once in awhile. I only turn on when using kodi to watch movies… Sometimes I can go a long time before having issues. I think it has mostly to do with your streaming service and sometimes your ISP.
I experience too. Surf shark IP are getting blocked. we need to answer
Hey Team,
i have set default location with auto connect to a specific country like Germany.
but i do really this to connect to this country or a list of countries , if anything happen like server not available at the that moment.
problem : from time to time i see that the connection is on my country, that wasn’t what i configured.
any suggestion ?
This happened to me after setting up SurfShark on my Apple TV 4K. None of the troubleshooting methods worked. Talked with support and they suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I didn’t think it would help, but I was wrong. It fixed the issue for me.
