The first 3 dub episodes of Suicide Squad Isekai have already been released by Max but only available in some regions. Fortunately, I managed to watch the episodes by “other” means. Hearing the voices and the quality of the audio mixing, this is most certainly a dub commissioned to Sentai Filmworks, therefore it’s non-union because they couldn’t get the celebrities to voice the characters.
While the cast list has not been officially revealed nor any VA has announced their role, here are some voices I can easily recognize:
Karlii Hoch HAS been making recent tweets about getting the opportunity to voice what’s probably the biggest thing in her career. Considering Houston Sentai dubs almost rarely take anything but seasonal roles, something like this would definitely line up with that.
You know, regardless of the quality, I do genuinely hope this has a butterfly effect into Houston being at least SLIGHTLY more respected as a dub hub, and then we could actually get some hard hitters under their belt.
Is there any known reason why it hasn’t been released in the US? I can’t even find a drop of info about it. Until some leaked footage showed up I was concerned it wasn’t getting dubbed at all. Why so secretive about it?
No disrespect to the VAs ofc, but it’s real depressing to see Sentai casting this like a generic seasonal. WB must have given them the absolute bare minimum
I don’t know if I should be surprised or not that WB cheaped out with this one. Nothing against any of the vas here but given how much they’ve advertised this you’d think they’d go all out for the dub and not get a studio that’s known to do dubs for a cheap budget.
I’m so confused. It’s on Max, but for me only in Japanese language with subs. Then I look up the show through and there’s an English dub. Why can’t I access the English dub on Max?
