So, I’ve tried most all the popular “Free” VPNS AND I’ll go ahead and tell you my experience. I believe For a FACT, that rarely ANYTHING good is TRULY FREE, and most ALL THOSE “Free” VPNS sell your data, or are FILLED WITH ADS, OR BOTH.
I think I signed up for the Free 10GB of Windscribe to begin with for almost 6 months before purchasing the pay as you go plan (I think, I’ll have to check) and I get like 50 cities in 12 countries for $3 a month!! And just in the United States alone there’s I think six or eight different cities that have a 10Gbp/s speed rating and 2 or 3 in Canada; where the company is based out of.
Also, the browser extension they have is pretty great as well, it has options to block all the annoying cookie requests, constant location requests from new sites, as well as trackers, adware and malware blockers… as well as several other features. But someone please tell me why I shouldn’t be using it, and what is better service for three price?? I’m open minded, but especially for the price of unlimited data and the speeds are 80% of my norm 100Mbps, pretty much for $3 bucks a month…
Windscribe is great, especially if one gets lifetime license before.
It’s very comparable, if not better than those ‘always-top-reviewed’ VPNs.
A side note, windscribe does not work in China, neither does Express VPN, nor nordVPN, which keep show up as “working” vpn in china. These nonsense review writers are so full of it.
Bad issues streaming IPTV - stream would drop off after every few mins requiring a restart (Windscribe custom plan). With ProtonVPN (free) I had zero issues so it’s not an issue with IPTV service. Tried different servers, protocols, toggled anti-censoring/firewall, adjusted mtu and probably dozen other ‘fixes’ but it was a no go with Windscribe and IPTV.
Going to give Privado a try. Non 5/14 eyes unlike Windscribe (5 eyes). So far the free version has been great (on wireguard), faster than windscribe and proton but all 3 were within 30% speed. Probably not as good for privacy as other better known VPNs but I just need it to work with IPTV. Other option is go Proton premium.
For most users Windscribe would be more than fine. I had no issues with it except for that one crucial part.
I MAINLY only use for accessing websites I cannot in my country and for downloading CR stuff for MYSELF so it works FINE. I Just bought another YEAR for $29 and 5 EYES can suck a fat one as they give zero fux about me and their are forces at work against their agenda as well. I use IPTV and stream all sporting events and WORKS FINE!!! ZERO ISSUES in YEARS and that is literally ALL I DO… what DNS are you using?
Tried Proton for a month and it was a pain finding servers where Hulu worked consistently. Also, the implementation for port forwarding on MacOS is garbage. Just that last part was enough for me to ask for a refund. Otherwise, they were a great service while I used it.
Forgot what it’s called but used what Windscribe provides for DNS. Did try switching DNS… didn’t matter. Think my issue had something to do with me being in Canada and Windscribe being Canadian. My ISP is notorious for being pricks. So my experience isn’t likely to be indicative of most users as evidenced by your experience. Anyhow things are working fine with Privado so I’m sticking with that.
