My ISP, Xfinity, is being as unhelpful as usual. They are saying signal levels are good and blaming on my devices, but this is happening across all devices and different browsers.
I would simply use VPN all the time, but turning it on makes it hard to browse a couple of websites that block VPN. Amazon occasionally does this.
I’ve tried:
Using Google (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) DNS. I’ve tried a couple more, but it didn’t help.
Rebooting modem and router.
Connecting my desktop direct to the modem.
Flushing DNS cache, powercycling the modem to get a new IP.
Switching to WiFi, different ethernet cables and laptop.
One website I noticed having this issue was dekudeals.com. Page usually loads, but images take forever to load, while other websites are loading very fast.
There were a number of websites that had this issue, but I can’t think of another one just yet.
With VPN on, I don’t have this issue.
Is this something I can fix, or something I have to live with since ISP is being in-cooperative.
Which area are you from? I’m on Xfinity as well and am having similar issues lately (especially in regards to images), I’ll check dekudeals when I get home from work. The main thing I’ve noticed is that all of the slow/inconsistent problem websites use Cloudflare to serve content such as images. Try Mariowiki.com and Minecraft.wiki, those have also been problem sites. Even Rave.dj at times.
EDIT: Checked Dekudeals, having the same problem you are.
Same here. Telekom in Germany (Frankfurt region). VPN solves the problem but the main issue is causing issues with Discord and tons of websites (but not all!). I started wondering if it was routing problems to Google Cloud hosted services.
I’ve contacted Xfinity, I’ve contacted Cloudflare, nobody’s getting anything done…
And it is intermittent, but occurs most of the time I’d say. Other Cloudflare services don’t have this issue (Speedtest, their website, DDos protection etc), but their CDN ist just a SLOG right now.
Thank you for commenting on this, hearing from more people helps a ton! We need to make a chat group or something to gather everyone together in one place to discuss this.
