Set up home Wireguard VPN server, but don't recognize the DNS server in my DNS leak test?

I used a GL iNet Beryl router (connected to home router) to set up WireGuard VPN server. Then, I set up second GL.inet router as a client using the config file from my home vpn server. When I run a dns leak test on my laptop & mobile, the DNS server/ISP is Neustar Security Services with location in Auburn (U.S) even though I’m located in Canada. The IP address is correct though.

Should I be concerned since I don’t recognize the server/ISP at all? I admit I’m a bit of a noob.

Note: I just followed the instructions here to set up the VPN server.

https://docs.gl-inet.com/router/en/3/tutorials/wireguard_server/

What’s the dns you get under [Interface]?

DNS = 64.6.64.6

Good point - I see this is associated with Neustar.

Since my IP is correct, should I be worried about DNS server being in US instead of my home area? I’m primarily trying to mask my location from work while I’m travelling.

If so, maybe I should look into the WireGuard config to change this DNS somehow?

yeah, can try change that dns to the one on your home router

If OP is trying to hide their location (which is very likely), then the DNS location shouldn’t even matter since that traffic is tunneled anyway by the Wireguard VPN.
