QQ: What E-Sim has never let you down? Is Holafly's Unlimited Data Pack worth it? Any other recommendations?

I have an upcoming business trip to Poland the first week of September, and I’m wondering which e-sim wouldn’t disappoint me.

Currently eyeing Holafly’s unlimited data packs since I’ll be working, but I haven’t used it before so I can’t vouch for it’s reliability.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

It work’s, tried it, used it, etc. But SUPER expensive because 1) I’m travelling and rarely need unlimited data. 2) I dislike you can only buy “Number of Days” instead of by “Data Usage”. So…yeah, it works, for the price you pay for. To me, I don’t have time to waste, so if it works, it works, so I’d rather spend 25 euros to buy it rather than spend more time doing ABC or XYZ.

Alternative eSIM is Airalo, not as expensive as Holafly but is paid on data usage, which I like. But you need to know how much you will be using and see which mobile carrier you’re connecting, if you need 5G speeds, then ideally know that it is supported. Else, some countries, max is 4G depending how and who Airalo supplies. But works, just slower upload speed from my experience but workable for business related.

For business, yeah if you like to choose Holafly, go for it. If you can have it as a business expense and get it reimbursed via receipt, even better.

Like all technology things, you test it out, just like you test out your powerpoint slides before meeting to ensure it works for the actual meeting. Same applies to eSIM. Environment or going off-site technology going to be different. So test it out. Any problems, speak to Holafly Whatsapp team for support, they’ll assist to troubleshoot and fix it. You can use hotel/airport wifi, etc etc.

Have fun in Poland!

I am used Nomad in Asia recently, zero problems. Not unlimited data- but you can top off if running low at any time. I don’t know if it’s the best or cheapest, but it worked fine for me

I’ve used Holafly unlimited data across several countries in both Asia and Europe and never had any issue. Not the cheapest option but works great and never had to worry about running out of data.

Orange Holiday Sim. Works flawlessly every time. Data tethering always works. Very reliable.

I have some doubts with unlimited plans as I heard that they usually stop having a good connection after you spend X amount of data. You can always compare it with other providers. For example I really like this table.

Try an app called Lyntel. Works perfectly! Lyntel.io

StaffTravler has a good eSIM, good for a year, buy however much data you want.

I Have a trip to EU coming up, I’m also looking for a esim that could provide a phone number as well but looks like this will not be an option.

Airalo seems to be the most recommended so far, but their r/ has terrible reviews, so it feels like a coin toss.

I’m currently using Jetpac for the first time in Central America, it was so much cheaper than the others and has been great!

I just used holafly unlimited data through Germany. It was great. Really couldn’t complain.

Looks like high cost, but against the total price of travel overseas, I find it to be a no-brainer. Trouble free and great connectivity/speed…

I have used nomad eSIM the last 4 years in Mexico, Japan, Philippines, Costa Rica. Then going to Uk and Ireland and bout as $18 dollar plan on normal with 20 gigs for 10 day trip.

I’m in Costa Rica now and this is the first time I’ve tested out an eSim on my phone. I went with Airalo and love it. It was super easy to set up and then service never lagged or anything like that.

I brought 2 GB and that was more than enough to last me the 2 weeks I been here.

FlexiRoam they tend to have a lot of discounts so don’t pay the standard price you see. Used it a couple of times and works fine.

For me in my Argentina visit it did not work at all, I bought 20 days of “unlimited” data! it’s a lie It is limited data, no cellphone voice call, they let you use 500 mb daily and it resets every day, no accumulation, 500 mb is 1/5 of a movie on your phone, they tell you to share internet connection and you 500 mb are used in a split second with todays social networks 500 mb is a drop in a cup, by a local tourist sim card and top up as you go or if you have a never phone contact a local phone company to sell you an e-sim which can be done online in many countries.

Used holafly back in Nov 2024 in EU (Spain, France & Portugal). Reliable speed, minimal loss. Did ig & tiktok Live & it felt like a breeze.

And then onwards to Morocco & it all turned to s**t. Super slow speed, pages not loading up. Whatsapp messages not sent out. Didnt even bother to do Live on social media except when in hotels over the wifi.

Wouldn’t recommend holafly to anyone who’s going to Morocco. Get a local Moroccan sim that works a million times better.

Late for the game, and this won’t be helpful for you, but for someone traveling later it might be:
I was on eramus for months and my normal network provider limits my roaming at 34Gb. Which yeah, might seem a lot, and it is more than enough for a few day travel for messaging and listening to music, but if you live somewhere else you want to watch movies and stuff, so you want unlimited data.
Thats why I bought the 90 day unlimited pack. It is def useable for those as well, but for 1080p movie/youtube streaming it sucks ass. I did speedtests multiple times and they were under 1Mb/s, at about 300-500Kb/s.
Which for streaming and downloading in general sucks, so I used Holafly outside for just messages and music and mostly my data for movies (at the start of every month lmao).
On the other hand their customer service is tops, never seen such helpful people anywhere before.
I switched phones and my esim did not transfer, it was fixed in like 30 minute.
So yeah, just the service in general I would give 7/10, customer service 100/10

Airalo, always works no matter what continent or country.

I e used Airalo frequently all over the world….and never had issues. Not saying they meet your needs…. I’m not a business user…But I recommend them to friends and family with no issue so far….

More data takes less than 60 seconds to add if needed…. They make it super simple.
