Hello, why is port forwarding only available on the Windows clients? Why isn’t it available on Mac like other competitors? (Airvpn, PIA, Windscribe, hide.me, etc ).
I do realize I can port forward using the configs, but for a premium VPN, i expected you guys to at least support port forwarding on the MacOS official clients. If there are no plans in the future to add this, i might consider contacting support for a refund on my 2 year subscription.
Yes, I agree, Why ?
I just subscribed 2 years VPN at Proton, and discovered I cannot easily port forward.
I’m thinking about refund…
Sigh… Yes I am now regretting my own long term subscription because I would like to be a good seeder
Agree 1000%. The fact that you have to manually install a python library and run a script in the background is insane. So many other VPN providers have figured out elegant solutions, whether to include it in the app itself or handle on the website account settings. Why can’t ProtonVPN do it?
It’s available with all desktop clients. You will need to setup manual port forwarding. You should start with the docs.
No, it is not. Port forwarding is not available on the official ProtonVPN MacOS client unlike Windows. I already mentioned I knew how to setup port forwarding manually.
I beg to differ. Unless the doc is outdated, it was mentioned that it’s only available for Windows.
I have already mentioned above that I knew how to set up port forwarding manually. My argument is why isn’t port forwarding available on the official MacOS client like Windows. Tons of competitors have already released port forwarding on their official clients for MacOS. For a premium VPN, I feel like it should be a given.
Manual port forwarding is available for Mac and Linux you just will have to research natpmp
which other mac VPNs have port forwarding easily? lol
Windscribe, airvpn, azirevpn, torguard, hide.me, and probably more.
