This notification comes up several times a day and I’ve not yet found a way to stop it. Any suggestions please?
Something changed recently.
I have a pihole at home, but I have all private relay and address tracking limiting and all that turned off so I don’t get the notifications about private relay because it is supposed to be turned off on my network by turning those off.
Something as of iOS 17 or a recent update has been making this pop up constantly.
Not to my knowledge but since it only pops up after Private Relay was disconnected, my question would be: why does it keep disconnecting?
Did anyone found the cause for this? I never had it up until today which now is starting to get a little too much and tedious, I can’t get rid of it. Every 30 min or so it pops up on my home wifi.
Did anyone find a fix for this? Just started happening to me.
Swipe left and see if there’s notification options for it, my guess is not, but this shouldn’t pop-up often as private really should keep active all the time so it’s a weird thing
Something in the update now tries to force Private Relay back on even for wireless networks, like your home, that you have explicitly toggled it off for. I’m now seeing more ads because of Private Relay. I’m about to just permanently toggle on a Wireguard VPN and give up on Private Relay entirely.
Same! Today I had this popping all day and I don’t even have pi-hole. I just have unifi and use cloud flare DNS. Did you find the reason? Only happens on my wifi network.
If you have a pihole at home it will disconnect .
I should’ve mentioned that I equally get the opposing ‘private relay is unavailable’ notification.
No not really. It’s very unpredictable.
Still happening to me despite updates. And I swear it slows everything down. Have taken to turning it off most of the time now. Curiously though, it seems to allow NSFW sites to get through!

I just disabled private relay. I use chrome on my iPhone anyways

Again…for the neophytes here. What’s a pihole? I’m losing my mind with these notifications every other second! Yes, second. Apple should be ashamed
Alright, I don’t own a pihole but I assume you’re connecting to it when in your home’s WiFi? in that case: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > click ⓘ next to „Insert your home‘s WiFi ID here“ and disable „Limit IP address tracking“. This way your iPhone won’t be using Private Relay when connected to your home‘s WiFi.
I don’t know what a pihole is, so I guess I don’t have one?!
Argh, I thought the pihole response was og, sorry. So then my question stands: Why is your private relay not working in your home‘s WiFi? I’ve only faced this issue when connected to a handful of public WiFi’s but never at home. Are you admin for your home’s WiFi? Are you running any VPN on your router? There might be a setting that blocks private relay from working properly.
