Once again my Spotify stopped working, so I tried doing what I’ve been doing since the first time this happened ( changing the account region from the Spotify settings on my browser). In my surprise this time it didn’t work so I tried something else. On the old method, after you changed the region you didnt need the VPN open for Spotify to work after downloading it from xmanager, but when I turned it off it didn’t fix the problem. So I tried leaving the VPN open. And for some reason it worked. Idk the “science” behind this but it’s working just fine ( at least for the whole day that I used this method). I live in Greece, and I know that for many of us here downloading an older version from xmanager or from xmanager’s discord didn’t work. Also I don’t know if by using the VPN in the background I use more mobile data than without it. Anyways this is what worked for me.
For context, I’m using VPN super unlimited proxy and currently my region and the VPN are in Germany. Haven’t tried any other countries for now. Hope this works for some ( or all ) of you.
Anyone know if there are any official statement from xmanager admins on wether they make a version that works for everyone or something like that? Cause I’m really trying to avoid paying for the Spotify subscription…but I’m afraid I won’t be able to avoid it if this situation continues like this…
Edit: I read other posts that say that in Spain and Greece they keep the VPN open so I’m not claiming originality for my solution. I read those posts after posting mine
worst comes to worst, ill have to come back to soundcloud. but since im in an asia country, there are many songs that aren’t available in my country which id have to use vpn all over again so it’s back to square 1
Yeah, I’m Portuguese and that is also the only way I can get Spotify to work for me. As I said in other posts, it is probably because Spotify added some logic to their endpoints. The fact that currently we are only able to use the app while using a VPN suggests that Spotify now checks the origin of its user’s ip address on every endpoint. This means that as soon as you turn your VPN off, your device’s IP address will be associated with your country once again, which reflects on you not being able to fetch any data from that point on.
My question now is: can this be patched via source code? As I said in other posts, the added logic on a couple of countries is related to some APIs that Spotify is now using and testing, but I am not aware whether they will extend this to more countries, and if this is fixable…
spotx works fine in desktop without vpns etc, cant that be ported or the same code be added or something? i dont understand how these things work, but that one never had these issue (maybe because spotify patched only mobile??)
Guys there is an app called SpoTube, install it connect with your Spotify account and enjoy Spotify with all it’s features including your playlists too in the app.
Works like a Charm.
i was going to talk about this, I’m also from Portugal, i was not able to see songs, i did what i read about changing region to USA, it worked for a time, i just had to open the app with usa vpn like every 2 weeks, last week the musics were appearing without the VPN but not the podcasts, i installed an older version as a clone.
And right know, spotify only works with the VPN on but i still can only see music on the latest version, and music and podcasts on the older cloned one.
F******* hell. Been trying to get spotify to work again, im in Portugal aswell, and I’ve setup my account to France. Just tried with a free VPN to France, and spotify music works again. Without VPN the songs just “close” but the podcasts seem to work tough…
Spotube and other YouTube derivatives only remove the sound from the videos. Often these are not the original tracks of the discs. For many it is already good… for others it is not.
