Paid for yearly VPN plan, can't use it

Hello. So. I’m very frustrated right now.

I decided to pay for a yearly Avast SecureLine VPN plan. The free trial expired yesterday, but since it’s on automatic renovation, it automatically set me up to start the yearly plan. So today I go start my VPN and I get this message:

“The license has expired. Renew now to keep protecting your privacy” I have the product in spanish so some of the wording may differ from yours.

Anyway, I go check out what the hell is going on. I use the activation code, it accepts it, still says license expired. I click on the green “renew” button, nothing changes. I open an account on the Avast website, download the premium security setup, install it, reset my pc like it asks me to, once again input the activation code, STILL SAYS EXPIRED.

So I go check my subscriptions and I find out I have the trial account active, with 0 days remaining, and the Premium Security plan, with 344 days remaining, is avaliable to change. So I click “change to this subscription” and it tells me the change has been successful.

It hasn’t. I’m still stuck with the expired free trial. I reset the PC again just in case. Nothing changes. Nothing. Changes.

I am very annoyed. I did everything all the installation processes asked me to. The support page is a joke, an endless FAQ that lead to a parade of links, that lead to more links, that tell me to do what I’ve already done, and not a single fucking person that can give me some actual guidance.

I tried contacting them on twitter, my messages keep bouncing. I tried the spanish avast twitter, but it doesn’t have a verification badge so who even knows if they’re legit.

I don’t wanna cancel the subscription and force a reimburse, but I don’t see what else there is to do. There might be some obvious solution I’m missing because of my blinding rage, but I very obviusly cannot see it.

Have you tried signing in to the app instead of using the activation code?

I frequently have had problems renewing and billing issues with Avast.

Nope, but I figured out what’s wrong: the premium security plan doesn’t include the VPN, only a free trial. Which is weird because I remember specifically purchasing the VPN plan. So anyways, I cancelled the subscription and will be deleting all my Avast stuff. Fuck them for selling me shit I didn’t ask for, wasting my money and my time

The naming is confusing… premium security is only antivirus, ultimate contains also VPN
