Nordvpn subscription ended, what's a better alternative? Advice on making one?

I had nordvpn for 3 years, this is what I found annoying:

  1. If I do alot of googling under Nord’s VPN google will make captchas rain on me.
  2. Nordvpn speed ok when you got 100 down (cuts around 60-70 when on) + but when your on public wifi or like a 10 mbps down, its literally dogshit #notuseable
  3. Always wants to update, adding features I don’t want.

Whats I’m looking for:

  1. Fast VPN, that doesn’t bottleneck on networks that are like 10-15 down usually public wifi spaces
  2. Inexpensive
  3. Simple and gets the job done, don’t need all the fluff

Any advice on using any free, making my own vpn, or there like some open source vpn? I mainly care about speed. I want something just open without having to worry, of slow internet. Nordvpn just not usable when you’re actually outside.

Have you tried Express VPN? It’s a fast, yet simple VPN, I believe. If you don’t like it, you can always cancel your subscription and get a refund I think.

  1. You are playing the lottery with VPN’s IP’s with Google searches and getting captchas. You need to understand you are not the only one on that IP. I have multiple VPN’s that i use and when i use NORD I sometimes get Captcha ( Very rare) .I use Mullvad, Windscribe as well and get captcha. You will not prevent this
  2. what are the speeds fo the public wifi you getting? because when ever i use lets say walmart wifi i get around 50(no vpn) and when i get on a vpn get around 30. Are you using Nordlynx?
  3. what features are they adding that hasn’t already been implemented?..Cuz the only updates i am getting is like hotfixes updates. I think the last major update that i noticed was for the Nordlynx
  4. Mullvad is like 4 something a month if you use bitcoin. Mullvad is open source and is good

  1. Ya I understand that. I believe it’s mainly due to mainstream vpn becoming so congested and Google knows the IPs.
  2. I’m from Canada I don’t know any public wifis that has 50 down lol. Haven’t used nordlynx first time hearing about. Whats good about it?
  3. I might have used the wrong choice of words but what I meant is it’s always asking me to update, yes there’s bugs etc but why u need an update like every other week for a VPN. Plus they try to push their other products. I just want a vpn that’s it.
