Nord VPN on Surface Devices

I have a Pro X and that wont run nord VPN as a client but I have it on chrome as an extension.

Are there any sub $1k surface devices that would run it? I am looking at a Pro 9 on the EVO platform.

You have few options

  1. You can setup Windows built in VPN client using IKEV2/IPSEC protocol https://support.nordvpn.com/hc/en-us/articles/19916965616017-Connect-to-NordVPN-IKEv2-IPSec-on-Windows
  2. You can use OpenVPN ARM64 native client https://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/releases/OpenVPN-2.6.9-I001-arm64.msi
  3. You can use Viscosity VPN client using OpenVPN protocol. It is now fully ARM64 native and very user friendly but it is not free https://www.sparklabs.com/viscosity/

I personally prefer OpenVPN client/ Viscosity-easy to setup.

Holy Sh**. What an ordeal…

Had to get OpenVPN GUI setup and then do a manual NordVPN account install for that…
So far, it’s working.

I know this thread is a bit old, but recently NordVPN changed their tune and says they are working on an ARM64 version that is in final testing phase and just waiting for a microsoft cert: https://www.androidauthority.com/copilot-plus-pcs-vpn-3452723/

Your Pro X will absolutely run Nord as a client if you update to Windows 11 - it has full emulation of x64 apps.

Confirmed working on my Pro X and SP9 SQ3

I spoke too soon, it is crashing out with driver incompatibilities.
It seems that the app is native ARM but the underlying drivers need x86

What?? How??

I get the error " This program can only be installed on versions of Windows desgined for the folloeing architectures, x86, x64."

Mine has MS SQ1, running Win 11 Home.

WINKEY and R (run) and type winver - what version of Windows are you running? Are you fully updated?

The Nord VPN client is working for me on ARM processor and insider build 26058.1100

Same version and WIP as well. 64 bit, ARM based processor.

Via the twitter link, seems that OpenVPN doesnt work on ARM.

Also, I am having issue in importing the profile from NordVPN.
