I’ve heard good things, to the people that use this to play, how much does it help you? Latency without using it and latency when using it? I’m interested in using it to get a better route to the servers out in Cali.
I’m in Florida and my tracert is telling me I’m hopping down to Miami (very weird since I live in North Florida), then up to Atlanta, then out to Texas, then out to San Jose, then to Sacramento.
Will Mudfish allow me to select specific nodes to route through and what not? Any general information would be appreciated! Thanks!
I’m not sure of the actual latency difference, since just pinging the datacenter doesn’t give the whole picture, but for me, Mudfish is the difference between being able to execute 2 oGCDs without clipping and not. If you have no GCD clipping issues, you probably won’t see much of an effect.
It does help, however the node route that actually improves your latency may not be clear cut as it highly depends on how each node is peering to the FF datacenter ISPs. I have had static members in the south east see better performance routing up though Washington while others are better off just routing though LA.
Best thing to do is experiment. Get a baseline feel on something like ninja then mess with the route settings. You will instantly notice if you find an improvement though mudra casts.
It depend . Mudfish used to not working for me 2 years ago while wtfast was but now mudfish work for me while wtfast doesnt . It depend on your isp so better test it out
I have been using mudfish for about two years now. Without it, connecting to any server in miami gets me more than 100ms ping and using a florida mudfish server drops my ping to 45ms. Using a combination of a server thats closest to me and one thats nearest to the server gets me around 100-112ms ping when without it i get above 230 ping without a use of any vpn. It does help when your ISP has bad routing (like mine) and the difference is like night and day. You can have it choose a server automaticly or you can do it manually. You have to experiment to find out which gives you the best result. Find the server thats closest to you and the one closest to the game server then open command prompt and do a ping test using the ip (which you can find here) once you find the one that gives you the best result then just manually use that one.
