Mining in the UK via VPN; Should I be worried getting this popup?

This has nothing to do with your miner, as your VPN software suggests something is intercepting your internet traffic. Either you’ve been hacked, man in the middled or you’re running some other software that’s intercepting all your web traffic which is interfering with your VPN.

Look for help in a more appropriate subreddit would be my advice.

Have you reached out to NordVPN’s tech support? They are very helpful and can certainly assist you better with figuring this out compared to a bunch of dudes on Reddit.

It looks like a Huawei router that is trying to do a captive portal on your network (the root.home). Probably no malicious intent here, it’s doing URL filtering on the router.

I think your computer is infected, dns lookup.

Why would you need a VPN if you’re mining from the UK?

I’d switch vpn’s. That dont look good…

r u sure you’re in Ukraine?

This might be a noob questions, but is this to avoid tax?

I always wonder if you can mine with VPN. So this was useful. Does anyone know if I can buy crypto with a VPN. In my current area, I can only use coinbase and I don’t like there KYC policy.

Keep attention, NordVPN is logging so if you dont want do be tracked in the future go to a no log VPN like Express VPN.

Thank you. Much appreciated my guy.

I am using a huawei over 4G…… reckon that could be it?

Appreciate the help. Will stop flapping now ! Thanks you

Privacy. Nothing to do with location, just wanted to keep my stuff private.

NordVPN are reputable and seem to have blocked the connection. Main worry is what/who/why is something trying to connect to Wuhan

The NiceHash North 2 server is in Finland so VPNd to there. Seemed to lower latency over using the UK Nord Server.

Most, if not all, reputable exchanges require proof of ID (including address) so I’d say a VPN wouldn’t help.

I have no insight here but would appreciate a follow-up if you figure out what’s happening. Just in case it happens to me haha

There is really nothing sensitive in mining traffic that you would need to worry about.
