Ahoj!
I was using Cyberghost VPN for various different things, mostly for streaming services.
I never thought about a VPN service being shady so i never looked more into its security site of things. Now something happened that opened my eyes to the insecurity some VPNs come with.
In my example here: Cyberghost is actively promoting in their apps that they will give out ur data in case of piracy and that u will get a fine of at least 150€. That was literally written with these exact words.
So please stay safe and away from them.
Did you manage to take a screenshot or are these just words?
Cyber ghost used to be awesome. One of the first vpns with a killswitch.
Then they got bought out by kape technologies who used to be a malware distributor making millions off selling personal data.
They also own pia (idk why so many support them) express and zennmate.
You are willingly routing all … ALLL your Internet traffic through a third party company and the thought of those companies taking advantage of it never occurred to you? xD
I was extremely sceptical and did a very thorough research about what VPN to chose when I got mine cause just the thought another company could just snoop in my traffic at will is scary. And you just have to trust them and their promises lol.
Just always do your research with things concerning your data, privacy and safety. Do not take anything for granted and always think the worst of companies and people. Call it paranoid but that’s how you stay safe out there.
I didn’t bc it was on my tv and disappeared after 5 seconds. Will try to capture it the next time i see it again.
I figured out that they added a fact bar into the client that displays various different facts.
Will update if i encounter the fact stated above
ahh fuck, I have 2 more years with PIA
Just curious, what vpn did you end up using?
