Hello. I received a notification that Kaspersky denied a download. This notification came up 11 times already.
Is this a false positive or a real threat?
Event: Download denied
User type: Active user
Application name: chrome.exe
Component: Web Anti-Virus
Result description: Blocked
Type: Probability of unauthorized software download
Name: https://getwb.club/cu/gmlt3.js?366
Threat level: High
Not sure what it’s designed to do. Virus total isn’t picking it up as malware, but it shouldn’t be trying to download to your system over and over again.
VirusTotal
Try resetting Chrome and disabling sync.
in my case it was an extension called “smart auto reload” (from google chrome), I don’t know why all the auto reload extensions of pages always have some kind of possible virus
This is normal behavior for antimalware software that does what it is supposed to do. When you visit unsafe sites infected with all sorts of malware, a drive-by download of unwanted malware is often initiated.
Kaspersky has this issue of giving multiple notifications for the same threat. Anyway, it did its job and you are safe considering you also followed what other members suggested.
thanks very kind, cool kaspersky vs norton
Anyone find a solution to this other than reinstalling Chrome? I tried doing that and am getting no luck getting the notifications to go away
