In Switzerland we dont have Censorships on Internet. Everyone can do whatever they want to do. We have the freedom to use the Deep Web, if we do something criminally, i know on the TOR is everyone with an diffrent IP-Adress.
After all, every Cantonal Police can track your Ass on your IP Adress. If you feel that someone is spying your Phone. You can use diffrent methods to avoid it, for example talking in secret language or meet personally…

The only reason to use a VPN is if you don’t trust your ISP with your internet history - that’s pretty much it. But you have to keep in mind that while a VPN will hide your activities from your ISP the VPN company now has that data. I’m quite sure it is no better to have a VPN company from where ever in the world (the big ones tha advertise are American) having access to that data over your Swiss ISP. Don’t bother with VPNs; if you want privacy online use Tor.

Regarding VPN we have to realize that the “VPN boom” that we see since a few years is mainly a marketing-buzz to make money. It’s just another thing where companies try to tell everybody that they need something which they don’t actually need. (It’s no surprise that a lot of the new VPN offers are attached to “anti virus companies” since they are experienced marketing-machines when it comes to selling people useless stuff by telling them that it’s more “secure” that way.)
VPNs can be useful if you’re trying to access content that is only available in certain countries. For example, Netflix US might have a show that Netflix Switzerland doesn’t.
Beyond that, as the others have said, downloading pirated content (so long as it’s not a computer program (ie video games)) is legal for private use.

I have a VPN set up for every time I need to connect to a network that I don’t know (supermarkets, hotels, airports, etc.) but I don’t see the necessity while at home.
If I want to create a large escort site for different cities and states , should I do vpn in switzerland and create a website there? And for marketing too? Or can I do marketing in the US? of I want to hire customer service , should I hire then overseas? Or should I do it at home in the US ? Where should I purchase them? Overseas or in the US? True. Seeding torrents is illegal - but there are plenty of options to download pretty much anything without the need for a torrent (I never torrented anything, always just straight downloads) and even if you absolutely have to use a torrent, not all torrents require seeding.
So what method would you recommend in particular for a hassle-free download at near Blu-Ray quality?
Just searching for a downloadabre version. Using “download” + “<movie/media title>” + “” usually does the trick. Not on Google obviously, American companies are very keen on not showing the relevant results for searches like that. If you find it available for stream but not for download, you can try looking at the code of the website (Firefox: right-click → Inspect Element) and search for where the media is linked, then follw that link (repeat if necessary).
I usually use RARBG for English content (they even have remux so literally the full blu-ray), and yggtorrent (need an account and to upload to a certain degree if you don’t get the bonus “upload”) if I can’t find it, I just block seeding
For direct download zt-za(dot)net (French orientated but English original version is possible), and I had another site but I can’t remember now that I use exclusively RARBG
