Is there a way to connect to an ISP not through a VPN?

I want to see some TV shows in the UK and I can’t because I’m in the US right now, and they detect if I use a VPN so I must use a genuine UK connection (from a real UK ISP).

Is there a way to do that or even order a service like this from BT, Three, TalkTalk etc.?

If I were you I would have a VPN running at home and connecting to that from the US would be like you’re surfing from home, no one is the wiser.

The problem is with paid vpn’s they use datacenter IP’s and lots of places block those and give issues like you see here.

For instance I paid for a VPS in the US to watch american netflix but netflix knew better. My mom is American and I put a VPN in her house and boom I am an american now with a regular american IP lol

You can get a free trial of mysterium vpn to get a residential ip from the UK and later cancel it. This way they can’t detect you for a non residential ip. Another option could be if you have any family in the UK get them to set up a vpn server.

I run a NAS at home that runs a VPN server. I connect to that, which means my IP when using UK services literally looks like I’m at home.

Might not be straightforward for everyone though

I’m using Hoxx VPN and it doesn’t work, why mysterium could be any different?

What is NAS? Sorry for my ingorance.

How can I buy/pay someone like you to use a connection like this? Is there a marketplace for something like this?

I assume other VPN companies won’t be useful?

Mysterium vpn servers are hosted by individual people, not by datacenters. If you host a mysterium “node” then you get paid by how much traffic goes through it. This means most mysterium ips are residential, if they have like a R next to the server it’s residential.

A NAS is a small server. I bought a Synology. It’s not too difficult to set up. Not sure about other options

Thanks so much, it works, this post of yours should get lots of votes up, I appreciate your help!
